Komal Kuwadekar is a singer, songwriter and musician from Mumbai / London. Her soulful and versatile voice lends itself beautifully to her unique style of music that blends jazz and blues with a hint of pop laced with influences of alternative rock.

From a young age, Komal’s true passion has always been music. After being discovered by a well-known producer in Mumbai, she made the decision to focus on her passion full-time, leaving a successful design and branding career behind to dedicate her life to music. The past couple of years have been spent devoting herself to music full time – training classically, performing and working on her upcoming album “Light and Dark”.

A performer and musician of outstanding calibre, Komal has many live shows to her credit across popular venues in Mumbai and Pune, and has collaborated with artists from India and the UK. She has performed at the prestigious National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA), Mumbai, BlueFrog, Journeys Arts Festival, Bandra Base, Gostana, The Big Jam, Amanora, Classic Rock Café and Gyaan Adab Art Centre, to name a few. The Jazz and Blues Club have also invited her to give a special performance for Jazz aficionados. She is now set to release her debut EP “Light and Dark” which marks the beginning of her journey as an independent artist.
A confident attitude, combined with sheer dedication and pure hard work, is what sets her apart. Komal is that rare artist who has the ability to make the old feel new again, and make the new feel familiar in an instant. Her alluring voice, and her ability to deliver the feelings songs are meant to evoke, has been delighting audiences and listeners since the beginning of her journey.

"As a singer-songwriter, this album is particularly close to my heart as it signifies what I believe life to be about – the light and the dark. Some of my songs are more upbeat- about love, living the life one has dreamed of and going after it all with great passion, being positive even in a tough situation - essentially uplifting songs; while the others go into the darker side of human emotions and psyche with unfulfilled desires, fear and unrest. Life and humans have both light and dark (as within so without) and need both to evolve and grow. This has been the main inspiration behind my music.
